Jubilant Britons headed to town centres across the country on Friday night for yet another royal knees-up to celebrate the Queen‘s four-day Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Proud subjects across the land donned Union Jack face paint and party hats as they basked in the balmy afternoon temperatures before carrying on the festivities well into the evening.
Revellers at a pub in London donned short-sleeved shirts and sunglasses as they raised their glasses to a cardboard cut-out of Her Majesty, who is celebrating 70 years as the country’s head of state.
In Liverpool, gal pals donned their best short-length dresses as they had a drink – or two – to commemorate the ‘Platty Joobs’ – the somewhat divisive nickname given to the once-in-a-lifetime event.
Elsewhere, old timers were all smiles in Belfast as they raised a glass in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, who is now Britain’s longest-ever serving monarch.
In Leeds, young women donned Union Jack mini-skirts while others dressed as the Queen’s palace guard soldiers.
Fancy dress was also seen in the party capital of Newcastle, with one reveller dressed as Ali G and others donning Queen face masks.
It comes ahead of another day of festivities planned for Saturday, including the Epsom Derby and the highly-anticipated Party At The Palace concert.
The Queen has been forced to miss the derby owing to ‘discomfort’ over her mobility issues, after also pulling out of the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday.
The concert at Buckingham Palace on Saturday night will play host to huge stars, including Diana Ross, Sir Rod Stewart and Eurovision runner-up Sam Ryder.
It is not known if the Queen will be forced to miss other events but sources suggest royal aides are prioritising having her be fit enough to be on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Sunday’s grand pageant finale.

‘I’ve always been a strong supporter of the Queen so we wanted to do something to celebrate the 70 years,’ he said.
‘We were thinking what to do and we decided to paint the shop.
‘We only decided to do it on Sunday. It’s more impressive than we imagined. It took us two days, we did 12 hours each day – I’m aching now.
‘We painted it twice, we had to do two coats. We do really like it and would like to keep aspects of it. We’re so lucky to have such a great flag.
‘We’d have done it twice as quick if we didn’t have to keep waving every two seconds, I could’ve done with a third waving arm! It’s got to be one of the biggest Union Jacks in the country. You can see it for miles.
‘As the shop is 65 years old we’ve had some customers all that time, some have brought in their children’s children as well.’
